The news of the Oscars submission for the film 12th Fail stands as testimony to the brilliance of film-maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and his exceptional storytelling that has made the film reach this place.

Talking about the preparation of his character, “Very challenging, although I don’t say things like these too much; this one particular character was very demanding. For example, “Getting into my character was tough. I had to learn a new language and way of speaking. But there was an extra challenge. The director, Vinod Chopra, wanted me to look a certain way without using makeup. So, I had to make my skin darker. To do that, I applied mustard oil, sat on my terrace in the sun, and waited for my skin to peel off, like an onion skin peels.”
