Tiger 3 box office collection day 4: Salman Khan-starrer recorded a shocking 50% dip in its collection on its fourth day, which was a holiday in many parts of India. The film’s nett domestic collection currently stands at Rs 169.5 crore.

Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3 released in theatres on Diwali and the film had a strong start at the domestic box office as it collected Rs 44.5 crore on its opening day. But after recording strong collections in its first three days, the film witnessed a dip of 50% on its fourth day. From making Rs 44 crore on Tuesday, Tiger 3 box office collection went down to Rs 22 crore on Wednesday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

This takes Tiger 3’s box office collection to Rs 169.5 crore nett in the domestic market. The film’s worldwide collection stands at Rs 241.85 crore gross. The film’s dip on the fourth day must come as a shock to the producers as this was on the day of Bhai Dooj, which is a holiday in many parts of the country. It is to be noted that YRF has claimed that Tiger 3 has collected Rs 271.5 crore worldwide gross in its first four days.

The film released in over 4500 screens all over the country and in the Delhi-NCR region, the Maneesh Sharma film has over 1684 shows but the occupancy in this region was only limited to 19%. In Mumbai, where it has over 1336 shows, the film has an occupancy of only 18.25%.

The year 2023 has seen some big box office successes with Pathaan, Jawan and Gadar 2 setting unprecedented records and with Tiger 3 getting a solo release, the film was expected to match up to these hits. Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which was the first big hit of the year, released on a Wednesday (a day before Republic Day) and in its first four days, the film made Rs 220 crore nett domestic, as per Bollywood Hungama. Gadar 2, which released before the Independence Day weekend, made Rs 173.58 crore nett domestic, in the first four days. Jawan, which did not have the advantage of any holiday, was the winner of the lot as it made Rs 286.16 crore nett domestic in its first four days.

Yash Raj Films had previously said that it was a conscious decision on their part to release Tiger 3 on the “weakest day” of Diwali. The VP of Distribution for Yash Raj Films, Rohan Malhotra, told India Today, “In this case, however, what came to our mind was that it is important for us not to look at the opening day numbers but to focus on what is eventually going to benefit, and in the case of Tiger 3, we definitely felt that going on Laxmi Puja day, which is considered the weakest day to release a film, would be a better fit for our film.”
