  • The accurate response or the most fitting response: Four points (+4).
  • -Any mistakenly selected option will result in a deduction of one point (-1).
  • -Unanswered/Marked for Review will not earn any points (0).
  • -If multiple options are deemed correct, only those who have selected any of the correct options will receive Four points (+4).
  • -If all options are correct, then Four points (+4) will be awarded to all participants who attempted the question.

The omission of questions may result in an increase in marks for the JEE Main 2024 Session 1. According to the NTA information brochure, “In the case of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), if a question is omitted, full marks will be given to all candidates who have taken the exam, regardless of whether they attempted the question or not.”

For numerical value questions, if a question is deemed incorrect or omitted, all candidates who attempted the question will receive four marks (+4). This could be due to either human error or technical issues.

How to Challenge the Answer Key for JEE Main 2024:

1. Visit the official website: https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/

2. Click on the option ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’.

3. Log in using your Application Number and Date of Birth, then enter the Security PIN as displayed, and Submit.

4. Click on ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’ again.

5. You will find the Question IDs listed sequentially for JEE (Main) – 2024 Session 1 (January 2024).

6. The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option’ represents the most appropriate Answer Key by NTA.

7. To challenge this option, select any one or more of the Option IDs provided in the next four columns by clicking the checkbox.

8. You can upload supporting documents by selecting ‘Choose File and Upload’ (all documents should be in a single PDF file).

9. After selecting your desired option, for Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), Mathematics/Aptitude Test for Paper 2A (B.Arch.), and Mathematics/Aptitude Test/Planning for Paper 2B (B.Planning), scroll down and click ‘Save your claim’ to proceed to the next screen.

10. You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.

11. Click on ‘Save your claim and Pay Fee finally’.

12. Choose the Mode of Payment and pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200/- for each question challenged. Payment can be made through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking.
